This is how critics describe Alexandru Tomescu, one of the most remarkable exponents of the Romania Violin School. Over 20 awards in international competitions, several hundreds concert all over the world, collaborations with the greatest conductors and countless records – an impressive visit card for a young violinist whit a impeccable technique, sensitivity and musical maturity that crossed European borders, the Ocean and went all the way to Asia.
In September 2007 Alexandru Tomescu won the Stradivarius Elder-Voicu Violin competition and the right to play this exceptional instrument for the following 5 years. This new success re-confirmed the incontestable value of the young Romanian artist.

Geologist, researcher speleologists, photographer, books and albums author, documentary producer, Chef Editor of National Geographic Romania, Cristian Lascu declares that he is on holyday for the last 35 years now. He dose al these out of passion, not as a profession. His journeys …above and under the ground…brought his numerous notable performances. Together with his team mates explored dozens of kilometres of unknown galleries, discovered unique karstic formations, time capsules where unique species survived for millions of years, pre-historic graves and archaeological vestiges. Several of these discoveries, that combine science and the adventure, were presented to the public in the documentaries realised for TVR, Realitatea TV, BBC and Discovery Channel.
Among his toffees we found: The Great Prize of the Romanian Academy, The Science Prize of the Flacara Foundation, The Great Prize for The Best Science Film-Spain, The UNESCO Prize for Scientific Journalism, The Black Sea Man-Istanbul and the Ford Prize for the Protection of the Environment
